That’s what they say – so today, October 25, should be especially charming. Three great artists were all born on this day: Johann Strauss, Jr. (1825), Georges Bizet (1838), and Midori (1971).
Midori exhibited her innate musicality at the very young age of two and on her third birthday received a 1/16-size violin from her grandmother. The rest is history!
Classical 90.7 KVNO will feature performances by Midori during the 10 o’clock hour. Listen to Midori perform Paganini’s Violin Concerto in D, in its entirety.

Inspired by the superhuman technique and diabolical stage presence of violinist Niccolo Paganini, Liszt was determined to become as great a virtuoso on piano as Paganini was on the violin. Even his contemporaries said Liszt was the most technically advanced pianist of his time.
Franz Liszt, born October 22, 1811, was indeed one of the most impressive figures in music history. One could say, he was the first rock star of classical music, having lived a life not unlike that of today’s rock stars.
Not only a virtuoso pianist, Liszt was also a prolific composer, a conductor and a piano teacher. KVNO celebrates this master by showcasing his music today. Listen to a full hour of Liszt’s finest pieces, performed by your favorite pianists and orchestras during the 10 a.m. hour. Liszt’s music will also be featured throughout the entire day.
Celebrate not just the music of Liszt, but the best in Classical music through the ages – on Classical 90.7 KVNO!
