You can purchase Joachim’s Violin Concerto No. 2 “In the Hungarian Style” by clicking on the CD above. Also on the CD is Brahms’ Violin Concerto, written for Joachim.

Even during World War I Danish composer Carl Nielsen’s creativity could not be subdued. It could, however, be influenced by the conflict raging around him. Tune in to Classical 90.7, KVNO today at 10 am for a full hour of music from Nielsen, including his wartime Symphony No. 4, “The Inextinguishable.”

Looking for something a little bit more peaceful? Try Nielsen’s Violin Concerto coming up at 3 pm, or at 6 pm for the second symphony of another Nordic composer, Jean Sibelius. All this and more is made possible with your financial contributions to member-supported, KVNO!
